Booking Training

Booking for all SVPP training is via the Virtual College learning management system.

Bookings can be only made via your Virtual College account and cannot be taken over the phone or by email.

Register for an account and book training here. Please note that a Cost Centre code will be required for Wiltshire Council staff. Staff from other agencies may enter ‘N/A’ in this field. All accounts will need a unique email address, as the same email addresses cannot be used for multiple users. If staff do not have a unique work email address, they may use a personal email address to register instead. It is recommended that you use an address linked to you as an individual, and not your role such as head@school.uk or safeguarding@organisation.org.

Existing users can log in and access training here. If you have forgotten your password, there is a ‘Forgotten Password’ prompt on the sign-in screen.

How to make a course booking

Course bookings on Virtual College are called ‘Events’. This covers all trainer led courses which may be face-to-face or virtual. Safeguarding Week webinars (which occurs each November) are also ‘Events’.

Once you have signed into your Virtual College account, select ‘Events’, followed by ‘Available Events’. You will then see a list of courses available to you and once you click on a course title, you will see available dates and can select one and request attendance.

Following your request for attendance, SVPP Training will review your request and will normally accept the booking within 24 hrs (Mon-Fri). If there is any problem regarding your request, we will send you an email with further information.

How to access e-learning and recorded webinars

E-learning, pre-recorded webinars and post-course modules on Virtual College are called 'Learning'.

Once you have signed into your Virtual College account, select ‘Learning’. To access e-learning or pre-recorded webinars/information modules, you will then need to select ‘Available Learning’. You will then see a list of e-learning modules available to you and once you click ‘Start’ on a module title, you will be able to access the content.

To access post-course modules, please select ‘Learning’, then ‘Active Learning’.  Here you will see a module for each course you have attended, which will typically include course documents, a course evaluation form and your certificate of attendance

Charges

All e-learning, including pre-recorded webinars, is free to access for anyone working with adults, children and families in Wiltshire.

Many of our courses are also free to attend for anyone working with adults, children and families in Wiltshire. Some courses, however, will have a charge for attendance. Please see course details on our Courses page or on Virtual College for more information about charges for each individual course.

Organisations that contribute to the SVPP budget can access training places free of charge. This applies to a small number of organisations such as Wiltshire Council, Wiltshire Police, BSW ICB, National Probation Service and Salisbury Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Charges are levied to organisations funded or commissioned by contributing agencies.

Cancellations and Non-Attendance

If you have booked a place on a course and are unable to attend, please cancel with as much notice as possible. This can be done via your Virtual College account, or by emailing SVPPTraining@Wiltshire.gov.uk.

If you cancel a place with less than 10 working days’ notice, or fail to attend without cancelling, you will incur the following charges:

£75 for a full-day course (4 hrs or longer)

£50 for a half-day course (less than 4-hrs)

Where a charge for course attendance or non-attendance is due, SVPP Training will invoice your organisation for this after the training has taken place. There may be a delay of several weeks.

If your organisation requires a Purchase Order number to be quoted on the invoice, please arrange for this to be sent to us by email when you have made your course booking.

If you change your email address (this also applies to moving to a new organisation), please let us know by emailing SVPPTraining@wiltshire.gov.uk
